This can include chest countoruing with liposuction, direct excision of breast tissue with or without skin removal, and double incision with free nipple graft. Our doctors understand that choosing to undergo a gender affirming procedure is no small choice in a person’s lifetime, and have seen how gender affirming procedures can help men and women live life to the fullest. Our team of doctors is knowledgeable, compassionate, and skilled in gender transition surgeries for both males and females.
Who Is A Candidate For Transgender Surgery?
Patients who have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria, in which they feel discomfort or distress caused by a discrepancy between a person’s gender identity and the sex assigned to them at birth, and/or patients with gender nonconformity, who have been evaluated by a healthcare provider with experience in gender issues and that professional feels that individual would benefit from gender affirming procedures can be considered. We use the standards of care as outlined by WPATH as a startng point, but realize that gender is fluid and each patients situation is different so our care is individualized. For patient who plan for a full transition we prefer that patients have been undergoing hormone therapy for at least 3 months and are under the care of healthcare professional experienced in transgender therapy.
