Juvederm Ultra

Juvederm is a gel made of Hyaluronic acid- a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration.  FDA approval was received in 2006 to soften and treat the appearance of mild to moderate facial creases or wrinkles, and is available in a 0.8cc syringe size.  The treatment takes just a few minutes, involves an injection into the skin areas with minimal discomfort, and may involve some bruising or swelling post-injection. A topical anesthetic is usually used for comfort.  The areas that may be available for treatment are the nasolabial folds (creases from the nose to the mouth), lips for outlining or enhancing for volume loss and definition, and the marionette lines or mental areas.  The improvement is once again temporary, visible within a few days, and can last longer than 6 months in some.
