Juvederm Ultra Plus

Juvederm Ultra Plus is a Hyaluronic acid gel – a naturally occurring substance in your skin that is used to provide temporary fullness in the appearance of facial wrinkles and creases by adding volume and hydration.  FDA approval was received in 2006 for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and creases, and is available in 0.8cc syringes.  The product is gradually broken down by the body’s metabolism, can last longer than 6-8 months, and up to a year in some.  Areas for treatment include nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and mental areas.  A topical anesthetic is used in most cases, and the injection takes just a few minutes.  There may be some downtime involved as there may be swelling and bruising after the injection, and results can be seen in as little as 2-3 days.
