Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Surgery

The endoscopic technique for treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome has been available for approximately 20 years. Through a small incision on the wrist, a small endoscope is inserted, attached to a camera, which allows the inside of the carpal tunnel to be visualized on a TV monitor. Through this small incision, the ligament compressing the nerves in the carpal tunnel can be released. Many patients find that this technique causes less pain, less scarring, and earlier return to activities than traditional carpal tunnel surgeries.
